Third album by TELLAVISION who calls her original aesthetic “hardware post-pop”, deconstructing borders between pop and avant-garde, hi- and lo-art. “The Third Eye” is available as 180gr LP and download.

A unique sound that she baptized “Hardware Post-Pop” and which situates the young artist among like-minded lofi-advocates ARIEL PINK, JOHN MAUS and ESG on the one and a newer generation of female artists such as FATIMA AL QUADIRI, INGA COPELAND (whom she recently supported), GAZELLE TWIN or CLARA LEWIS on the other hand.

about

The third album by Tellavision deconstructs borders between pop and avant-garde, studio and basement.

Tellavision delivers "The Third Eye" after “Music on Canvas” released on Feeding Tube Records (Thurston Moore, Guerilla Toss), and 2014’s “Funnel Walk” which was engineered at Tobias Levin’s Electric Avenues. The Third Eye was developed and produced during her years in Boston/MA. The tracks play with Tellavision’s reception across different genres: Too “punk” for an arty audience, too arty for the punks. TAV who's a student of the fine arts (with a.o. by Jutta Koether) follows her interdisciplinary approach which combines visual arts, film, and music, taking in a wide range of pop-cultural references, rejecting them to finally mash them up for new positions in contemporary arts that defy conventions. Defying the concept of the classical A/B side – instead, “The Third Eye” splits into 2 sides, each carrying its name with side 1 being "EASE TIKKY TAB," carrying her atonal, dub-infected trademark sound, while side 2, "CRYPTIC SNASH MAN," crystallizes as an oscillating field of kraut repetition and industrial ambiances. Dissonant soundscapes, created by a reduced setup of analog synthesizers, percussive elements, and fragmentary field recordings, go along perfectly with her catchy, soulful voice. A unique sound that she baptized “Hardware Post-Pop”.

about

TEll A ViSiON Germany

TEll A ViSiON (fka Tellavision) turns abstract occurrences into an expressionistic sound. Surreal silence and throbbing Euro-American art-pop hybrid that functions in truly Internationalist terms. Just when you think you have TAV's modus operandi decoded, something different happens and you have to re-evaluating your conclusions. *Ted Lee (Feeding Tube Records) ... more
